Not much has changed on the exterior profile compared to the outgoing model. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA measures 173 inches long, 71 inches wide and has a height of 60 inches. The front fascia is very aggressive. It features a twin-slat radiator grill which also features mesh inserts. The grille is flanked by elongated LED headlights. The front bumper is integrated with fog lights and air intakes. Its low roof line, a tall belt line and a spoil make the vehicle appear sporty. Its large and protruding oblong tail lights make the vehicle appear wider than it actually is when viewed from the rear side. It’s sill guard and skid plates make it look like an SUV. From a distance, 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA body creases and ripples appear dramatic but up close they look refined. The vehicle also features large wheel arches and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels though there is an option for 19-inch wheels.

Sliding inside, you will be met by an interior identical to that of the CLA. The cabin is designed with young buyers in mind. Its cockpit features round air vents which are inspired by those of aeroplanes. The cockpit also features chrome bezels, a 3-spoke steering wheel wrapped in leather and 4 round-shaped analogue gauges. The vehicle is capable of accommodating five passengers. MB Tex is the standard upholstery material. The front seats are very comfortable but taller passengers will find the rear seats a bit constrained. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA offers 17.2 cubic feet of cargo space which expands to 43.6 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded.

A 7-inch touch-screen is mounted on top of the center stack. The screen is used to access the vehicle’s MBrace2 infotainment system which features a Smartphone app that lets owners lock or unlock the car from a distance as well as find the car in a parking lot. It also features Bluetooth connectivity which enables music streaming and making hands-free calls. Other features include an 8-speaker sound system, tinted windows, and cruise control. To add flavor to the cockpit, you can opt for the optional Multimedia Package that adds the automaker’s COMAND system, a 80 GB hard drive in-dash SD card slot, a rear view camera and a free 3-year Sirius XM Radio subscription.
